I'm Erica and this is my blog. Welcome! I'm 35, illegally (now LEGALLY! Thanks, California!)wed to Melissa for six years, birth mother of our son Gabriel, age 4, and daughter Noa, age 1. I'm a PhD student in Biblical Studies, trying to nurse a baby, cut the crusts off tuna fish sandwiches, vacuum, blog, write a dissertation, and prepare lesson plans all in the same minute, all the time. I’m doing my best to completely freak Melissa out. She is disturbed – to the point of queasiness – when anyone uses their foot like a hand. I have no idea why. Using toes to pick up a dropped pencil or scratch the dog totally gives her the willies. So my mission this week has been to teach Noa to hold a piece of Apple Jacks cereal in her toes and... get this... eat it. The horror!

The way I understand it, Noa comes from a long line of toe-using females. According to family history, her great-grandmother pinched her sisters with her toes. Check it out with Gramdma O.
