Have Huppah, Will Travel.

The California state Supreme Court ruled today that gays and lesbians have a right to marry in the Golden State....  officials are saying that marriages might commence in as little as 30 days.  SIGN US UP!  I'm dusting off my huppah and calling Rabbi Jane Litman (who conveniently does all our weddings, see the descriptions and photos of the last two times she officiated for us at: http://www.parentingbeyond.com/weddings/).  Freedom_to_Marry.jpg

Gabriel shares, without really understanding, our excitement.  "I want to get married, too!"  He cries.  "What is married?" I ask.  "It means you love each other and stay together for ever and ever and ever."  So maybe he does understand.  "Who do you want to marry?"  "Mommy and Mama.  I marry you both."  "What about baby sister?"  "Well, okay, I guess."  So its official - we are all engaged.  And EAGERLY awaiting the possibility of marrying in California later this summer.....  the anniversary of our "Jewish" wedding is July 19/ 20 Tammuz....  maybe we can do a legal repeat?  With our beautiful children at our sides?

Stay tuned.  I will definitely keep you posted.
